Disney World Just Revealed Exciting New Details About the Star Wars Hotel

In December, Disney gave Star Wars fans their very first glimpse at the rides that will be part of the new Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge park, which is set to open at Walt Disney World Resort in 2019. Then, it was all about teasing the Millennium Falcon attraction, which will allegedly have riders piloting the ship.

Now, the mouse house is sharing new details about the resort that will make the fully immersive Star Wars vacation of your dreams a reality.

“This first-of-its-kind resort will combine luxury with complete immersion into an authentic Star Wars story,” Disney Parks shared in a blog post. “Guests’ journey through space will start when everyone departs together for a multiday Stars Wars adventure by boarding a starship alive with characters and stories that unfold all around them during a voyage through the galaxy.”

According to the post, guests will immediately become “active citizens of the galaxy” once they enter and will be invited to dress up in the “proper attire,” so cosplayers are more than welcome to go all out for their stay.

At the new resort, each and every window will provide a view of “space.”

“The opportunity for immersion at this resort will also stand out among all Disney resorts around the globe, as it will be seamlessly connected to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, allowing guests a total Star Wars experience,” the post added.

The hotel is expected to only have 400 rooms, The Disney Blog noted, meaning guests will likely have to work with one another over and over again to complete their missions.

And like any good Disney theme park, guests will also be able to do some shopping. The Toydarian street market in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge on the planet Batuu will have plenty of Star Wars toys both kids and adults will love. The Toydarian character, who was first introduced in “Star Wars: The Phantom Menace,” will reportedly sell handcrafted toys made by local artisans, so be on the lookout for one-of-a-kind goods.
