Meghan Markle just solidified her place as everyone’s favorite duchess thanks to her apparently very tasty baking skills.
Somehow, the Duchess of Sussex found time in the midst of her busy touring schedule in Australia to head to the kitchen to bake. There, she whipped up homemade banana bread that she brought with her to a picnic meeting with a local farming family in Dubbo, Australia.
According to Business Insider, Meghan, alongside her husband Prince Harry, went to visit the Mountain View Farm run by the Woodley family, located about five hours outside of Sydney. The couple learned about how the Woodleys and other farming families are coping with the drought.
For their time together, the couple joined the family for tea and a picnic, which is when the Duchess presented her banana bread to the crowd. According to Benita Woodley, “She said if you go to someone’s house you always bring something, so she did.”
Woodley noted that Meghan “…was worried about the bananas, that she’d put too many bananas in it. But the Duke said there’s never too many bananas.”
According to Rebecca English, the Daily Mail’s royal correspondent and person lucky enough to taste Meghan’s bread, it came with chocolate chips and a bit of ginger, and tasted “rather nice.”
Beyond the bread, the couple also gifted the family a canister of Fortnum & Mason tea (they brought the Royal Blend in case you were wondering).
As for how the mom-to-be is doing with all this travel, Meghan told reporters she’s “running on adrenaline” and feeling “a bit tired.” But, being the professional she is, she added she’s doing “pretty well so far.” Hopefully, a bit of sugar from the banana bread will help.
