You Can Do Underwater Yoga Surrounded by Tropical Fish in the Maldives

Yoga lovers don’t have to sweat in a hot studio to reach inner peace. Instead, they can try a refreshing experience about 20 feet underwater.

Hurawalhi Island Resort, on the Lhaviyani Atoll in the Maldives, had opened up a one-of-a-kind experience for yogis out there who want to perfect their downward dog while exploring under the sea.

Don’t worry, you won’t need any scuba gear.

For the first time, according to the resort, the 5.8 Undersea Restaurant will be converted into a yoga studio and feature yoga classes lead by fitness expert and author of #LETSSTARTYOGA, Jessica Olie.

The space has an aquarium-like quality. As guests move from sun salutations to warrior pose, they’ll be surrounded by tropical fish, turtles, dolphins, manta rays, and 200 species of coral. Crystal clear ocean waves really set the mood for working through a soothing Vinyasa flow.

After an invigorating work out, guests can cool down at the resort’s organic Duniye Spa, which is housed in a villa that looks out over the ocean, to indulge in some luxurious treatments. Plus, the view is equally as stunning above the waves as below.
